I just received Uri Shulevitz's book, "Writing With Pictures" and it is wonderful! I haven't completely read through the entire book, but what I have read has been so helpful. His work reminds me so much of Maurice Sendak's and I am wondering if Maurice studied under him or not. It seems I read somewhere that he did.

I am a book addict and I freely admit it! My family will tell you I push the "knowledge is power" theory on them all of the time. Reading gives one that power. As a child, I read 5-6 books a week at times. These days it is harder to find the time, though internet reading counts too. I try to fit reading time in as much as I can every week-especially if it has to with design or illustration. I am an avid news person too.

I have my entry for Illustration Friday on the board and should have it finished and posted by Friday.
