I met Wyatt when he was 8 years old through my previous employer. Wyatt is their son and has ALD. You may have heard of, or have seen the movie "Lorenzo's Oil". The movie was based on this disease. Wyatt is a fun and loving young boy who likes to do everything all young boys like to do and more! He won his way into my heart from the get-go. Wyatt is 10 years old now and continues to have siezures which is just one of many symptoms of the disease.

What I also learned about this disease is that there is no known cure for it. It is a disease that strikes mainly boys though some girls and women have become symptomatic.
As a mother and a friend, my heart is with this family and their search for a cure for their son and all children with ALD and other myelin related diseases.
