Dare Me!- Illustration Friday
Remember the days of dares and double dares? Our's were at the swimming pool. Who as a kid, would be dared to dive off the diving board on that first cold day before summer? Or, who could hold their breath under water the longest? Ahh, the good old days...

This is such a great illustration, your work is wonderful.
Too cute! Love it.
Thanks Michelle and Pam for the nice remarks. I had a lot of fun doing this illustration. Having a little extra time this week allowed me to experiment, something which I love to do. Time is often an illustrator's best friend! Oh, but this is sometimes our worst enemy, as we do sometimes procrastinate!
Great illustration, and I remember that I used to swim all the time when I was a child, even if it was rain and cold water.

i see what you mean maggie, great minds think alike. :) yours is so different than mine, and i love that. it is so crisp & blue & fresh feeling. i also like her purple swim cap.
Cute! Great colors and theme!
Great water texture and use of color!
Cute illustration! Greta line movement too!

Wynlen- Thank you and I remember swimming when it was raining or in the cold too. Now I am much more conservative-is the water at least 68 degrees yet? :)
Beth- I love working with bright colors and depending on what monitor I am looking at (I have two) the color varies.
Shano-Choosing a color scheme is always my biggest concern and sometimes anxiety. But as often is the case, I find the right color after experimenting with many color schemes.
Roosa- The creation of the water was the most fun and was exactly how I wanted to represent it.
Monica-I tried to create movement not only with the subject but with the surrounding objects. I think I pulled this one off. Thanks everyone for all your warm comments.
wow, lots of people are afraid of that diving board, aren't they? love your version...very nice!
