You Might Think You're Alone
I am guilty. I am submitting last week's illustration for "travel" again as I only posted it 4 hours before the theme changed to "alone" for this week's Illustration Friday. Not to mention Blogger was down from 6pm until at least midnight!
My spin on "alone" is simply this: The people in the illustration think they are alone, but are they really? Please click on the camel to view the complete illustration.

Are we ever really alone except for in our own homes? In public, just when you think you are alone, someone is looking over your shoulder and you are totally unaware of it. Crimes and threats of devastating effects are out of control around the world. With the new age of technology we are a monitored country whether we like it or not. Every where you go, whether you know it (like it or not), you are being filmed, photographed, monitored, and inspected, your information is copied, scanned and stored in huge data bases that can be pulled up at a moment's notice for many different reasons.

Margaret,
I love it! I love the idea of incorporating photos with drawings, and the contrast of the color with the sepia tone.

Also like the mixed media and colour difference. Love jeanie artist on top of hump with unique perception. I want to be her :)
Oh what fun! Your illustration is so colourful! What a great concept...i never would have thought of doing that!

Shazaam ! You have conjured up a marvelous illustration ! I agree, we are all monitored quite a bit. But at least while the government watches us, we have the ability to watch the government. Big brother / lil' brother.
Don't blink...
Thanks all, I do appreciate the kind remarks about my work. I am ever trying to add a different spin on the ordinary. I love old photos and anything vintage so it has naturally found its way into my work.
I like the bright colors against the toned photo.
