"Roots"

This week's Illustration Friday theme, "roots", immediately brought images to mind of all my favorite root vegetables and I quickly set to work creating vivid colors, shapes and textures. I may still may add more to it at a later date. Click here to view a larger image of it.
Can you name the vegetables?

your illustration turned out very pleasant and colorfull. I think you´ve choosen "rote Rüben" (beetroots), "Jungzwiebel" (don`t know the word in english. A translation word by word means: youngonion ;-), "Lauch" (leek), "Radieschen" (radish) and "Kartoffeln" (potatoes). Am I right?
However, they all turned out fabolous!
erm.. hmm.. T for turnips? well im poor at naming veggies but i think youve made a nice job on your illo.. very cheery too. hehe mine's kinda glomy tho.

Rowantree, yes this is a useful illustration for me as I have always wanted to illustrate a cookbook so it will show in my portfolio nicely.
Niff, the delicate leaves were series of layer upon layer and so fun to create.
Pino, glad you like the idea, I was trying to think outside the box on this one.

I love this! So clever and so lovely to look at.
Very nice solution to the "Roots" concept, Maggie! And an interactive one as well. Most of my answers were wrong but I was so eager to identify them! Fun!
Oh yes - I do like this illustration
Very nice Illo, Maggie! I also like the link between each letter and the first letter of the veggie. Great idea!
Wow, I totally love this. Would make a super poster or ad!
