Starbucks in December

A sketch from a visit to Starbucks in December. I loved the trees that went along with the red, white, silver and blue marketing theme.

A Beautiful Surprise!

Last weekend I received the most beautiful surprise in the mail. I opened the door and found a large box filled with the most beautiful dried hydrangeas from my very talented online friend Kim. You can see her busily preparing them here.
Kim, I can't thank you enough for this very beautiful surprise, I am overwhelmed that you cared enough to send them to me and I have them proudly placed about my home. I wanted to post these photos earlier but since hubby reformatted my computer, he hadn't loaded the drivers for my camera. Above are photos taken with the sun coming in through the window and again at night. I still need filler for the bottom of the vases but wanted to show you that they arrive perfect and unharmed. The colors are amazingly beautiful for being dried. Is there a certain time that you must pick them to dry so they don't lose their color and turn brown?

Thank you again Kim, for your kindness and friendship, you are gifted with more than just creativeness!

IF's Glamour & BC's #26 Dress

Well I decide that since Wally was drawing his jacket and ties, he needed a dress to go with it. I'm not sure if Wally's ties will compliment it though.

This is a dress I just wore to the wedding I mentioned earlier. It is a lovely chiffon dress in cream and black with a cream satin waistband, adorned with a rosette and pearl pendant. I felt very glamorous in this dress and black heels. More at InkFinger!

Blogger is on the fritz again tonight. This image is suppose to be larger however I have tried countless times to no available. I wish that Blogger would get their poop in a group.

Can You Guess?

I decided upon this character for Blind Contour Friday #25 while on my way to work the other day. From a well know TV program and one of my favorites. I still like the reruns. If your still not sure, he's Gilligan, of Gilligan's Island.

Illustration Friday- E is For....

E is for Egg. In beloved children's stories, most notably Humpty Dumpty the Egg. Poor Humpty fell off the wall and was broken. Thank goodness these two "cards" came along to save him!
A now finished piece I posted earlier for "broken". For a larger version click here.

Wedding Vows - BCF #24

For Blind Contour Friday #24

Really, there is nothing kinky about this-just sad! I have a wedding to go to on Saturday night and it brought to mind funny wedding cake toppers. I did a search and came across this right off the bat and had to laugh. Some marriages are not made in Heaven and I feel sorry for the guy who has a wife who rules over him. Same goes for the husband ruling over his wife. A marriage should be 50-50 with both standing tall and walking side by side.

I would send you to the link to the photo, but the last time I went there to view the photo to sketch a virus tried to download to my computer. Luckily I have a good firewall and anit virus protection. If you're interest is still piqued and you'd like to compare my illo to the photo, do a Google Image search for "wedding cake topper", and you'll see it's the first image result from the search. Madonna

Blind Contour Friday #23.

My all time favorite music artist right now is by Madonna (turn up the volume to hear her music). I have been a fan of her music for years. She just put out a new CD, "Confessions on a Dance Floor." She's got it goin' on for age 47 and she's not afraid to show it. She's in the best shape she has ever been. My favorite songs are "Like It or Not" and "Hung Up." "Like It or Not" plays to the independent rebel in me and I crank this song up.

Not a very good likeness of her I am afraid, however I do hope she understands what a blind contour is! For more blind contours visit InkFinger.

Starbuck's Blue

Getting back into the groove again, I sketched this fellow studying in Starbuck's. He never smiled once until 2 young girls came through the door and started talking to him. I only wished I had time to catch the bright smile he had on his face when he saw them. Ahhhh, the excitement of it all!

New Years Party 2006 Reminising

Eaves dropping on two Nutcrackers' conversation:
"Great party huh?"
"Yeah."
"Do I have nuts in my teeth?"
"No."
"Do I?"
