Antique Treasures

While at my parents I sat and sketched this bust of a young woman that sat upon a writing desk. It measures about 24 inches in height and 18 inches across. I believe it to be alabaster. So sad that this art form seems to have diminished over the years.

Not something that I had actually thought of but you are right! Even graveyard masonary has become quite plain. What a shame!

I love your drawing.

This is beautiful! I, too, love to sketch figural sculpture, busts, torsos! So glad you had a refreshing vacation, M.

You did a wonderful job, Maggie! You can really feel the roundness of the form...

Beautifully done. It looks like a lovely little sculpture. What a good idea of something to draw--like doing a portrait but it doesn't move!

This is beautiful, Maggie. I bet it was nice to have a still subject as opposed to the fast hockey player - haha. Your sketch looks very sculptural. Well done! AND glad to hear you had a good time on your trip and got to spend time with your kids. Coffee soon?
