Furriers & A Perfect Match

After a quick lunch at Paradise Bakery, I sat inside and sketched a mannequin in a furrier's window. The vest was a deep blue luxurious fur which "matched" (Illustration Friday) the designer jeans perfectly. After drawing so many "live" models, drawing a mannequin did present it's challenges.

This past year has been a period of considerable growth for me in many ways. I feel as if I am finally coming into my own. With each illustration I explore, I discover new things about msyelf and my work which has given me immense pleasure. Through self discovery, I have new direction and a path. Things are much more in "focus". I think "wisdom" would best describe knowledge of understanding oneself and ones surroundings. What a source of power and confidence wisdom brings!

I like the way you expressed the reflections in the window and the clean and simple lines of the mannequin.

She has a poise and confidence, too! Funny how what you've been thinking about has affected this drawing. It's so well done, M.
