Lovely Lady

Yesterday afternoon my Grandmother Lydia passed away. She had just turned 95 years old on February 25th, 2007 and her health had be failing after a bad fall and broken hip in 2006. I've so many wonderful memories and times spent with my Grandmother and the things we shared; our love of God and family, cooking, reading and gardening. She made the most incredible chocolate eclairs ever and the best chocolate chip cookies-one could never get enough! We'd beg her every time she came to visit to make one or the other and she'd never let us down, even when she was just too tired to do it. In these latter years we shared many stories about her childhood and past. My Grandfather passed away in 1990 and she often talked about him and missed him every day. Now I pray they are together in Heaven with the Lord. Grandma, I love you and will dearly miss you.

Maggie, I'm so sorry to read about your loss. Ninety five is an age to be proud of, though! Your grandmother looks like she was a beautiful person, and it sounds like she was beautiful on the inside, too. Thoughts are with you!
