I Made it Just in Time!

I bought these adorable tiny cake stands at Hobby Lobby on Saturday for 50% off and I am just tickled pink! I actually drove all the way over to Hobby Lobby, bought one, drove home, put it on my china cabinet and decided I needed one more. So...I hopped in my vehicle and drove all the way back for one more and just in time as the store was almost closing and the sale was over.

It took me some time to find our Easter decorations as we've moved 5 times in the last 8 years and have oodles of stuff still packed in moving boxes. Our plan is to go through everything and have a yard sale in April or May. Phew, what a job that will be! Anyhoo, I found some of the eggs and also our Easter tree (which sadly has seen it's last days) so I put some of the eggs in the little cake stands and they look adorable! The close up of the egg with two bunnies is one I hand painted several years ago on a real egg and topped it of with a pale blue sation bow. I made several and gave them away as gifts.
And last but not least have you ever visited Cream Puffs In Venice? If not, you're in for a treat. The most utterly delectable food blog and these cupcakes are a must for making and displaying in my new cake stands. My mouth is watering already...

I came across these adorable cake stands when I visited Holly's blog yesterday. Thanks for the tip off Holly! She has an adorable vintage style kitchen in my favorite color green and has three of the stands. She also purchased the taller of the 3 stands (which I chose not to) and they look beautiful with the little foil eggs she placed in them. Holly has a love for vintage too, as you can tell by the lovely photos she posts.
Just this week we received Taste of Home that had prize winning, yummy cupcakes on the cover, perfect to display in these new stands too!

Oh great cake stands. They'll be so much fun to fill!!
maggie, such delish looking stands. yes, i agree you need one of these eggs.
the paper mache form is from blumchens. made in west germany with a gorgeous toille paper inside. i painted the outside with gesso, acrylic paint, then acrylic clear coat. the pink one has a thin layer of white glue painted on then fine glass glitter shaken over the glue. the tiny fowers were glued on one by one in a random polka-dot pattern. that it! have fun, Julie
Yay! I'm so glad you were able to get a couple before the sale ended. I love them. Thanks for visiting my blog! So glad you got your stands.
those are the cutest little cake stands and they look so adorable with your decorations in them. makes me want to run to hobby lobby, but then i would have to run more and find cute stuff to go in them because i don't have any cute easter decorations. oh well, i just pop back to your blog and covet yours.
Beautiful cake stands! I'm a sucker for a cloche(bell) and these are so nice. It looks so festie the way you've decorated them...happy Easter there!

Thanks so much for the mention!
And you know I've seen those stands myself at Pottery Barn but have resisted buying them as they're a bit pricey. But you've tempted me sorely!!!
